99 E320 - White
Hello -
One of my license plate lamps went out last night on my 99 E320. I bought a bulb tonight, and could not find anything in the owner's manual on changing it.
Based on some post I have seen on other Mercedes on the board, do I have to remove the entire inside truck lid liner to get to the bulb for replacement?
Thanks for any advice.

Yeah, the stupid manual just tells you how to do it on a wagon only!
No - the trunk lid liner was too much trouble for me - there's an easier way. Assuming you're talking about a sedan just remove the handle (remove the two screws above the number plate) and carefully pull the clear light covers off - wriggle it around as there is small clip on one end (left side if I remember correctly) and if not careful, you'll snap it off! Takes patience (at least on mine). Nonetheless, I found the clip to be quite flexible so even if you forced it a little, you can always bend it back into shape when you replace it in the hole.
If anyone else has any better ideas, please let us know.
