Weird noise under back seat!!!
Ok fellas hope you guys can help me out. I just had a new stereo installed and now under my back seat by the battery there is a little motor that hums for like 10 seconds and then stops. It just keeps doing that every few seconds. What is that? How do I stop it?
I unplugged the new stereo and it still makes the noise.lol long day!!!!

there is a vacuum pump (PSE) which handles door locking mechanism for your
car, yes. how to get it to stop is easy. pull the fuse. but your problem is a
bit more complicated. what occurred during your stereo install which may
have set it off.....assuming, of course, that you did something to otherwise
affect normal operation of the PSE pump.

Do you hear a hissing sound anywhere in the car as well? Normally the pump will run the extra 10 seconds when you have an air leak somewhere in the locking system. Happened to my car and it was one of the door lock solenoids wore out and was leaking air. I bet that during the install either an air tube was damaged, or unplugged somewhere. Listen for the air hissing and you'll likely locate your problem. If you had the stereo installed professionally, I'd drive the car back there and tell them to fix it.

I have a very similiar problem only mine sounds like it's coming from my tires or wheel wells, and starts at 35mph and it sounds like im running over thoose asphalt cut outs they put on the freeway to let you know you swaying over the line, it goes 1 sec vibration and 1 sec silence.
