hello guys 2day i was driving my mercedes benz e240 2.6 2001 elegance with W selector and i puted to transmission 1 and i accelerated till the rpm fully loaded but it didn't shift automaticly it did a cata off sound then it shift to second gear is it normal or there is something wrong with my car ?? knowing that it smoothly run if i manually shift from first gear to final gear , but i am talking if it can shift automaticly nd thx u all

 

I thought putting it in W forces it to start in 2nd gear for better traction at takeoff. hence the name "winter mode"

 

yess man i know that , but i want to ask why it takes long time to shift automaticly to second gear while i accelerate on first gear ??
