Intermittent Power Issue
Hi Guys,
I drive a 2002 Mercedes E200 Kompressor Saloon (W210). It is a 6 speed manual. The problem which has been bugging me ever since it started is it loses power every now and again. It does not lose the power while i am driving. Its a case of i start the car and either it has the power or it doesn't and remains that way for the remainder of the journey. Sometimes the power dissapears for weeks at a time and sometimes its there for weeks at a time. It almost feels as though the kompressor isn't working because the car won't pull. I find myself welding my foot to the floor in order to get even minimal amounts of performance out of it. I can still drive it on a long distance at highway speeds but the fact that that pulling power comes and goes is really bugging me. I have reason to believe it has something to do with the key, because on occasion when i turn the key to on (not starting engine) then off and repeat this process for a minute or so before starting the engine it occasionally brings back the power. Even when i pull up to get fuel, on arriving at the petrol station it has power but once i leave the station it has no power.
