03 E320 Cigarette Lighter fuse?

Amazingly enough, the manual does not tell me where the fuse is located for the cigarette lighter socket located below the radio. I looked in the fuse panel on the drivers side dash and in the trunk and cant seem to see a fuse that has blown. I am guessing the lighter socket is not working due to a bad fuse, anyone know how to change it? Any other reasons that the socket is not working?

you should have a fuse map stuck inside the various fuse boxes. did you
check that chart? there may even be one in engine compartment (like mine)

Yes, in engine compartment (left side), fuse #1 and #6. In MB cigar lighter only works when key is on.

I think you have a W211 if it's a sedan. W210 only goes thru 2002.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. My E320 has a fuse map inside of the fuse compartment located at the drivers side dash. Looking through the list of fuses, there is not a fuse location that specifically calls out the cigarette lighter. Also, there is no reference to a fuse box under the hood, just the dash board and trunk.
There is a courtesy light ring around the cigarette lighter that is operable but there is no power coming from the socket - with or without the key in the ignition. We use the lighter socket to operate an Ipod FM transmitter and continues to not operate while the vehicle is running.

perhaps we weren't clear ourselves: go to the 211 forum, where I easily
found multiple posts on cigarette fuse location, including mention of fuse
cluster under the hood.
