transmission or engine issue..help me...

The short version.. bought a 97 e420, in 09, haven't had fluid change, it drove good but I couldtell it needs a tune up. It started taking awhile to shift so I drove it manually, now it moves slow and when it runs, I hear a noise from the passenger side every now and then. How can I change the transmission fluid?

you should have the 722.6 transmission, which was new for the W210. it is electronically controlled, compared to the old er722.4, which was hydraulic only and used Dexron II or III ATF. read this:

The link given will provide the procedure.

However, you might want to start by having the transmission scanned for trouble codes by the dealer.
