A wheel bearing is $30 or something close for the part. Very cheap. Even with the labor, that price sounds very high.
If the bearing is shot from a lateral strike, then you should be able to rock the wheel when you jack it up. Grab the top of the wheel, and it should rock in and out of the fender by a milimeter or two and make a ticking noise.

$30? Where my indy was looking, it was around 150, and dealer wanted close to 200, just for the part. Advanced auto parts has it for 70. May I ask where to get the bearing for $30?
