Performance tuning
performance tuning for the E320. They modify your ECU with an eye on
performance. I don't know what the resulting mileage hit will be. Usually
ECU chip alterations are $1k or thereabouts. These guys are charging
<$400 for 203s and $500 for 210s.
The interesting thing about this is that they you dock your wifi equipped
laptop to your car via the OBDII port. They take over and perform the mod
in minutes.
The docking cable is $100. The cost is $400.
The claim is:
E320 3.2
hp Stock = 221
Tuned = 243
tq Stock = 232
Tuned = 252
E320 CDI
$600
hp Stock = 201
Tuned = 227
tq Stock = 369
Tuned = 413
to hit the throttle "from the dig" nor do I feel the need to to pay $40 @ hp.
Simply posting for your enlightenment. Supposedly the performance gain
feels like having a sprint booster, but because this is a really a performance
gain and not just a changing the throttle curve, this may be of interest to
folks who feel that 10hp+ is important to have. Guys over on the 203
forum seem to be feeling positive with their investment.
