Bilstein HDs have noticeably higher dampening rates for both compression as well
as rebound strokes. they are designed for OEM ride heights. if you're lowering
up to 1-1.25" they should be okay as that is within the range of function for
normal length shock. it is when you lower more than this do you begin to exceed
the normal travel or the regular length shocks. So one should pay attention to
the resulting drop. More than 1.25", plus the demands of roads which can tax
the limits of a shock, ie bad roads, railroad tracks, etc, the regular length shock
can be taxed to the limit and suffer premature failure.
Generally, when a spring manuf adds the word "sport" to the model, that usually
means that the spring is in the 1.5-1.75" drop. I dont know what Eibach's
specs are for their sport model.
