Tansmission Issue???
Recently I've noticed a slight vibration roughness in the wat the car idles and runs. I just got into the car one day and noticed it...it came out of nowhere. The car use to be so smooth and now it has this roughness to it. It feels this way when idling in park or when driving. It feels like something is out of balance.
Also, today for the first time the car didn't something really out of wack. i was stopped at a stop light, when the light turned green for me to go the car start bucking and kicking. I thought the car was running out of gas or something. After about 3 secs of it bucking around, the car just started to rev like it was in N, but was still in D. I let the car roll to the next stop light and while stopped, placed the car in P, then back into D and felt it engage. This has not happened again while i was driving home.
The car shift fine all the time and never had any issues with it. Could the roughness that I recently started feeling indicate that something is going on with the trans?

Never as far as I know. It was my moms car and I took it off of her hands in 07. If it were a mount, wouldn't I feel it jump when I put it into gear? I don't feel that....

I'm having similar issues, what i figured out was the type of gas i fill up with.
As of now Citgo is the best gas to keep the tranny nice and smooth running at a red light and everything else makes the tranny act rough at lights.
I'm not happy with this so I'm probably going to visit the dealer soon to see what they say. My CLK430 never had this problem and shifted a lot smoother as well. :/

What do you mean with "Citgo gas keep the tranny smoth and clean"? :S
Anyway sounds like you have a bad engine & trans mounts! got inspected at the dealer or a good indy shop mate

I have the same problem with my E320 during some frigid winter mornings. In below freezing weather the tranny feels almost like it's slipping when pulling away from a stop and during the 1-2 upshift.
It goes away after a few miles of driving and never happens in the warmer months. I know transmission fluid takes about 30 minutes to fully warm up, so im guessing it could just be the cold temperature of the transmission fluid.
If the problem doesnt go away even after the car is fully warmed up then it could very well be a bad transmission mount

Could be many things, Pulley, bad gas, fuel pump, injectors. Given your symptoms it could be the tranny plus other things. Did you scan for codes? Take a look inside your engine bay and see if any pulley is vibrating a bit too much that could make the idle feel rough as well.

Even there is no specific time for transmission fluid change, I would say changing out fluid after first 20k miles and cleaning the magnet on the bottom are important for long transmission life.
