Low battery warning on Comand?!

Low battery warning on Comand?!
My wife told me that the Comand displayed something like "Warning: low battery, do not start the car" when she put the smartkey into the ignition. I have never heard of Comand displaying car-based(?) errors. Or does comand have it's own battery or something? She cranked it anyways and the message disappeared. We've been driving around all weekend without any problems....

I have a COMAND and that's the first time I have heard that it displays messages of that sort. Plus I have never seen it happen on mine. Do you have the separate COMAND book? You might find something in there.

My car had always been dealer maintained until I got it late last year, maybe some late software update has been done to it?!

My Command Manual says this...
Pop-up screen messages when the battery gets low
To prevent the car battery from running down, the driver will receive two messages to start the engine when battery power gets low. This warning will appear in all of the displays.
“Caution. Please turn on ignition. Otherwise system will shut down in 3 minutes”
