Post Engine Manuals

Hi
I recently bought a 1997 E 420 with a salvage title. The motor had water damage and mercedes took the engine apart before the insurance salvaged it. Now I'm rebuilding the engine which is a jigpuzzle right now because I don't really know how to put it all back together according mercedes specs.... now here's the q:
mercedes won't give me a manual to rebuild the engine. Is there a manual out there that can help me, does anybody have a manual or can get me one from mercedes??? Any help would be realy appreciated!

something like this will required a very detailed manual. There are alot of Technical CD out there. The one that comes to my mind is alldata.com, send them an email and see if their professional edition CD have enough enough information to rebuilt a motor

So Turbo, is this where you bought your CD and able to post such nice diagrams like on the rotor assembly in the other thread?

There is an E420 engine on Ebay right now, it is listed as an E430 engine but they are wrong. It seems to be starting at $1000.

Sounds cheap! Confirm the mileage and condition of the engine. Try and get some kind of warranty to assure that there aren't any problems once you go through all of the hassle of putting it in. If they can't warranty/guarantee it, ask if you can use escrow and pay for that servive, that way, they won't receive your money from the third party escrow service until you have been satisfied with the engine.
