1999 E320
![Exclamation](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon4.gif)
I have a 99 e320 that has the black unpainted plastic side skirts, as well as the lower 2" or so of the rear bumper.
I'd LOVE to install the color matched side skirts that I see on the facelift w210's, which i think might be standard on the e430....
I'd also like the newer rear bumper.
i've done some searching but can't come up with anything about the side skirts / rockers.... and have come up with conflicting stories about rear bumper swaps.
can anyone help?
this picture shows the black unpainted side skirt which is what my car has....

this shows the side skirt and rear bumper i want:

can anyone tell me if it's possible to simply swap these 3 pieces onto my pre-facelift w210?
your help is greatly appreciated. i need to have the rear bumper painted and really hate to waste the money painting mine if i can swap it for the one i really want...

your prefacelift model has no sideskirts. Its actually a part of the body that is painted black. You can install face lift sideskirts onto your car without much issue as long as you get all the correct hardware. As for the rear bumper, a face lift one would fit right on.

The rear bumper cover and the inserts and the side covers are interchangeable. The front bumper cover is not. The front fenders and headlights and the underside front most splash shield are different for the pre and post face lift cars. Build date change was around 6/99 for most exports out of Germany. As stated get the attaching hardware from the dealer. Mymercedesparts.com is a good source for US parts or your local dealer. The parts are best obtained used from a salvage yard. Extreme Dimensions has some good Duraflex kits. I have never dealt with them so this is not an endorsement. I have dealt with MyMercedesParts.com and with Bob Rox specifically and highly recommend him.

The best route to go, which I did on mine, is to do the following:
-Buy AMG sideskirts and have them colormatched and installed
-Have the bodyshop remove the black plastic valances in front and back, color match them, and reinstall.
Much cheaper on this route and will update the look tremendously.

before i bought my e55 i was looking into w210 similar as urs but in white and had the black at the bottom had i gotten it i was just going to have the black painted same color as the car .. honestly if your gonna spend money for side skirts and have them painted you might as well dish out the cash and get a full kit allround and make the lines look smooth so they flow evenly around the whole ride .. Or else just paint the black same color as rest of the car you might be pleased with outcome .

I have a 99 e430. Look me up at the Gallery section. My cars. I kept my two tone like factory. I added a E.D. front and rear lip but I just painted it black. Still two tone. Everybody color match their kits. Very few doesnt. I like your wheels.

thanks for all the help guys. my apologies for not responding sooner, i don't want any of you to think that i don't greatly appreciate your help as it was most useful.
4XFORE, how does the chrome strip line up on your car with the 99 sport rear bumper? any photo's?
i like the amg side skirts, but i was afraid they wouldn't match the body lines of the front bumper well... do you have any photos showing the side profile EdzBenz?
thanks again guys!

EdzBenz... I just did some searching and found some pictures you posted when you had the side skirts installed.... i hope you don't mind if i post them here, I just thought it may be useful to others with the same questions as I do....
i previously stated that i was afraid the amg side skirts wouldn't follow the body lines of the front bumper... i apologize... i thought the amg side skirts were more rounded and bulged out more, if that makes sense. perhaps that was the post facelift side skirts? either way, the side skirts you have are the style i am looking for.... i just didn't realize they were amg... thought they were merely called "sport"
any chance you have the part numbers for these so i could inquire at my local dealer?

Hi Erik. I don't mind you reposting the photos. Unfortunately, I don't have the part numbers. I'm very sure my side skirts came off of a 1997 sport model. They are stamped as AMG, but not off an E55 model. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

ok great! that helps a lot. i didn't realize their were non-e55 side skirts stamped amg.
i suppose it's time to start calling salvage yards since eBay's selection is practically non-existent.
