ESG / aux fan control unit question
I have a w210 with a bad ESG (smells burned) -- how interchangeable are these units? What are the differences? I have an ESG 400 A 027 545 81 32 sitting around the house.. would it be safe to throw it in place of an ESG 300 25 525 32 32 ?
The plugs and the pinout are exactly the same...
I think this could be a good resource for anyone who is having ESG or aux fan controller issues.
Thanks in advance! I am hoping the only difference in the model numbers is when the fans kick on and for what.

Well I tried it out and monitored it with the AC Diag (rest 5 seconds)
voltage stayed appropriate, the engine stayed cool at idle and the fans worked great... so I would say yes you can... as a side note, the active pins matched as well.
