Do I need warranty for a 2002 E320?
Hello everyone, I need some advice. Should I opt for a 2 year silver protection warranty plan that covers: Engine, Transmission and Transfer Case, Drive Axle, Suspension, Steering, Brake, Electrical, Fuel System, and Air Conditioning. The package costs $3,000 and it is for a 2002 E320 with 100,000 miles which I just purchased this past Sunday. Do you think this plan is worth it? Has anyone experienced any significant problems past the 100,000 mile mark with this vehicle? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

If the car has been reasonably well cared for and you have the service receipts to prove it and you are comfortable with a little risk, then I think you should save the money. Set the money aside and if you do have a failure use the money to make the repair. If a couple of years go by and you don't need it, then take a vacation.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
If you are the type of person who would worry excessively then get the warranty so you sleep better. Sleep is more important than money.
Most W210's need MAF's, O2 sensors, spark plugs, fuel filter and transmission service at 100K+ but I'm pretty sure none of that will be covered by the warranty. If you decide to go ahead be sure to read the 'fine print', you'll probably be in for a suprise.

I have only performed the routine maintenance required by Schedule A and B Service. I do my own maintenance and repairs and costs have been about $250 per year. I use only OEM fluids, filters and parts.
