Squeaking noise when accelerating

Squeaking noise when accelerating
Hello,
Need so help please.
I have a 1999 E300 TD. When I accelerate I get a fairly loud squeaking noise appearing. It is very annoying and would love to be able to sort it myself and not pay some garage to do it , it does disspear after the grear change up ( happening around 3k revs and when i put my foot down.
Also I get a noticable air sort of whirling noise , I am guessing it is when the turbo kicks in. I have tried changing the air filter , bu no joy. Could it be a leak somewhere or do any of you think it is just a quirk.
