Dome light turned on by passenger seat

Dome light turned on by passenger seat
Intermittently, when someone shifts their position in the passenger seat, the dome light will flicker on and off. Any clues as to what is causing this?

while the car is being driven, try these....
- have passenger grab the door armrest and try to move it laterally. does the
dome light go off/on?
- do same for driver side door. does dome light go off/on?
- do you observe door lock pins going up and down at all?

When the light comes on it is because the car thinks the door is open. Check the button inside the door to see if you can turn the light off and on. If that works as it should your door hinge could need adjustment.
