Hey everyone,

So anyone here ever tried plasti dip on the Benz?
Recommend it or have any experiences they'd like to share?
Any input would be appreciated

Its a rubber layer that you can paint or spray onto surfaces, which protects them from numerous things (corrosion, moisture, etc..). There available in many colors. It peels off very easily, so its not permanent. Its a good way to experiment different colors on your car and to also protect it. I'll be doing some testing tomorrow and will post pics once available

Need to get the badge, and ditch the hood ornament.

Yes I was thinking the same.. But now that I look at the rims black.. I'm starting to have second thoughts on it. It doesn't seem to suit it with all it's chrome trim around it. Well it was a fun experiment! Plasti Dip does work wonders thought.

i like the grill but you should keep the wheels the original colors, try lowering it and getting those wheels flush with the body

Various
A lot of people are doing it on badges, a relatively very cheap and easy DIY and easily removable.

spray that chrome trim and emblems with it and will look better otherwise just keep it on the grill

also unless you order online its almost impossible to find in other colors other then the flat/matte black color

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Yeah I've decided to just leave the rims as they are, I will definitely check out lowering it soon! As for everything else, I think I'm going to just leave it on the grill only. And very true MBFLO. I live in BC and had to drive down to WA just to find some since its very hard to find here!

That looks real good! Good call on the wheels. Lose that ornament. Jb speed makes a real nice badge for 25 bucks

Thanks Joeker82! Yeah, I thought the rims would be too much.. But I will definitely get on that after I have my headlights changed. I was thinking either the GM16 or GM25?

I went with the color matched grill and flat emblem, then I realized I liked the chrome grill and target emblem better. If anyone with a Tectite facelift wants to trade your stock let me know... I wanna go back to stock.

here how it looks, color match is perfect as I used factory paint.

Any sanding required on the chrome?

prior to spraying on this coating for better adhesion?

Well I didn't sand it, incase I wanted to remove the plasti-dip and leave it back to the chrome grill. It still sticks on pretty well! Washed it about 4-5 times since application with mild scrubbing and daily hwy driving, still no sign of it coming off!

dont sand it if you think you ever wanna go back to the chrome ... with this type of paint no sanding just make sure its clean and lint free .
