How do I remove seat when stuck in forward position?
2001 E320 Sport
My power seat is not working. It's the motor as the switch does make contact but it just clicks. All the other seat functions work fine and all fuses are okay. I want to remove the seat but because it is stuck in the most forwardly position, I can't get to some of the screws.
I've tapped the motor while engaging the switch in the hopes to get it to "limp" back a bit but to no avail. I would really like to move the seat back so I can take it out of the car.
Anyone know a trick to getting the seat to move or at least taking the motor out with the seat as it is??

I had that problem a long time ago and it ended up being debris in the seat tracks. I had my wife (much shorter than I) sit in the seat while holding the power button and push against the floor until the seat unstuck itself. I then brushed out the seat tracks. Haven't had a problem since.

You may to partially disassemble the seat in the car in order to remove the motor then the seat should free up (unless the track is jambed). I had to cut the seat frame apart in the car one time. Check for coins in the seat track..try unplug the module to reset..try everything before cutting it out.
