What do you guys think of the CL type sport grill with the star in the center on the W210? You opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks...J

Looks good! Go for it! The car looks great with the painted lower front spoiler for 96-99 models. Everyone should consider painting it especially on light color cars.

I'm not a big fan of the sports grill on a W210. However, If I was to use a carlsson flat badge on the hood, I might consider the sports grill to get the three pointed star back on the front of the car. If I'm not mistaken, the front bumper is the last part you need to finish the ground effects on your car. I'll await pics of the final product.

IMO, the CL grill for the 210 is nasty.
Too many grill-lines, star too flimsy. Don't do it.
Everyone knows it's a mercedes... Don't need the star to scream out 'look at me'.

Stick with the original (Avantgarde Grill) over the aftermarket sport grill. It is already an upgrade in Europe. I posted that same picture is the last discussion about this and think that it doesn't look good because the grill it too large and upright. It looks better on a 2000+ model because the facelift shrank the grill and tipped it back.

Install the Late Black Insert ..WITHOUT any Stars!
Spend The Money on some E55 Tail lites ..That WILL Look Great!

Thanks for all of your opinions guys. I will trash the star grill and just replace the hood star emblem to the flat type.
Mark, the E55 taillights are already in the works and I agree that they will look better than the MY00+ clear blinker ones as I have tinted my windows. I just haven't had the time to go and pick them up. Hopefully I will have a chance next week and also paint and install my front bumper from LAX when it clears customs and my broker picks it up.
