I was in my car with my kids..with the car on & the A/C ON waiting for my mother to pick them up..AND I see the RPM hand move up and down and then the engine shuts off. I tried to restart the car and when it started it roughly tried to turn on and vibrated and quickly turned off..What could this be i dont want want the mechanic to quickly make something up ...any ideas guyz ?? ihave a 2001 E320

MAN I JUST GOT A CALLBACK FROM THE MECHANIC SAYING IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP...NOW HE SAYS THAT HE WANTS TO GET THE PART HIMSELF AND NOT TO BRING AND BUY MY OWN PART...AT AUTOZONE ITS $252.00 AND HES TELLING ME HE CAN GET THE PART FROM $350.00 TO $420.00 AT ADVANCED AUTO I THINK... .I TOLD HIM I CAN GET THE PART BUT HE SAYS HE DOESNT WANT JUST ANY PART BECAUSE HE CANT GUARANTEE HIS JOB WITH ANY OTHER PART..SO NOW IM STUMPED AND THINKING WHY IS HE SAYING THAT"
