salutations
i am the very proud owner of a minted 11,000 mile 1998 E240 advantgarde. I have been fortunate enough to own some superb cars in my life, but the benzo makes me feel very special indeed. That said i feel that the car needs tweeking a bit. so heres a few questions:
1) E220 kompressor: could i install the forced induction setup from this model onto my 240 without needing to alter the compression ratios, head etc? Are there any other big HP conversions which dont require deep engine work to get that power. I believe the 2400cc 6 cylinder produces about 170 horses. im looking for a 'reliable' 250-350 bhp. I am thinking about installing the NOSZLE direct injection NOS system with water injection, but fear melting the engine... any other ideas?
2) Wald body kits: where would i find there homepage or a dealer with e class photos?
3) Alloy wheels: is severe wheel arch modification required to get 19 or 20 inch alloy wheels fitted. Also does an e class drive like a dog on 19/20 inch rims?
4) suspension kits: i wish to lower the vehicle by about 35 mm all round. The vehicle has a tendancy to understeer as well. can anyone suggest a 'comfy' lowering kit which wont knock my teeth out when driving over pot holes....
5) Gear box: what a dog...currently got a five speed auto with an up / down shift measured in decades. Due to this i am worried about getting this vehicle broadside as i dont feel that the power is available to the rear wheels so as to stear it on the rear axle...is there a manual box which i can fit or can the sealed auto box be modified to shift more efficiently? also how good is the later (post 98) model tiptronic box, and can it be retrofitted to my 240?
many questions for sure
many thx

Hey Zulu
Since no one's responded, I'll try to help with a non-technical one - Wald body kits (something I can only dream about since they don't sell them in my town - HK).
Some pics attached below that'll fit your car (Wald has two, aptly called, version 1 and 2). BTW, if you search "Wald+Japan" or "Wald+USA" in yahoo, I'm pretty sure its the first few - why the difficulty?
