How can i use my E430 without MAF SENSOR?
Hello guys!
The question is that, how can i make my car work, without MAF SENSOR.
My MAF is dead, and 20L/100km is very bad.
I know that replace for a new one is the best option for it.
BUT, in my country i canot buy this stuff from Ebay, because Ebay banned it...
In Ebay 150bucks, but in my country,HUNGARY,i must have to buy these sensor for 500bucks....
How can i use without MAF, what should i do with the ECU, or something.
Please help.
Thanks

You can't run without a MAF. The car is "blind" to how much fuel to use, as you see in your gas mileage.
First, you can try to clean the MAF.
Can you get Amazon.com? Try Parts.com. If you can give them a credit card they should be able to Fedex it anywhere in the world. You're better buying from a reputable source: many of the MAF on eBay are actually fake. If you buy from Amazon, Parts.com, Autohausaz.com, etc. you should get genuine Bosch parts.

If you run without the MAF your fuel mixture will be too rich. Besides wasting fuel the catalytic converters, if you have them, will overheat. Eventually, the media support will melt and plug the exhaust system and the car won't run well.
You can get the correct MAF from www.autohausaz.com I believe they ship internationally via UPS.

why dont you call or email autohausaz I am sure they will help you out and ship you a MAF sensor to Europe ...even with the overseas Fedex or UPS it will be cheaper than the $500 .. installation is a piece of cake . And no you cant run the car without the MAF

Running w/o a MAF will lead to serious damage to your car. The entire exhaust system including the expensive cats and O2 sensors will be ruined. You will cause serious cylinder head damage as well running too rich a mix due to higher than normal combustion temps. you could end up with bent valves and a destroyed motor. Another option for parts is rockauto.com. I have purchased from them and they are very reputable as is autohaus.com. Also try our sponsor MyMercedesParts.com. Ask for Bob Rox. They are a dealer in South Georgia but he provides excellent service at great discounts to other dealers. Bob has more than 35 years in the business and has been very helpful to me. Check some of the salvage yards for a good used one.

Hi,
I recently bought MAF sensor for my '97 E320 form USA and had shipped to Australia, no problems at all and was half local dealer price, cost about $250 including freight.
