Mercedes-Benz has quality issues?
My father currently owns a 2001 Mercedes-Benz E240 Elegance. A few weeks after we bought it (and we bought it new), the driver-side seatbelt started making "clattering" sounds every time you pulled the belt. We got that fixed on the first service. Next, the passenger-side mirror cover (in the sun-shade) broke off when I was closing it. I then noticed how cheaply made it was. Then the rear-view mirror started making "buzzing" sounds. We got both of these two "problems" fixed on the next service. Now, the passenger-side seatbelt is making the same "clattering" sounds when you pull the belt, the same sounds the driver-side seatbelt made.
What the hell is this? It seems Mercedes-Benz has serious quality issues.

Well, if you believe him, there's a service writer I know in northern New Jersey over here -- he swears the quality has gone down a bit in recent years. Says his desk is always full of warranty repairs.
