Aux input alternatives? for E320 2000

Aux input alternatives? for E320 2000
Ok I read and read the posts and seems there is no direct answer for the fact my E320 does not have an AUX input for radio. I would hope a forum like this can solve this. I really accept the fact it's not there, what I would like is some sound instruction. I have 2 thoughts and would like to know if anyone has experience to answer.
1) there is an inline antenna with a coupler to inject an fm signal directly into the antenna cable. This assumes you have an antenna cable with a plug. Does the antenna in the e320 have this from back of radio, and if so where best to access near the radio or antenna. Any pics would be great.
2) assuming above is not good option, then is it possible to inject an Aux signal into the CD changer in the trunk? If so please do tell!
I look forward to hopefully hearing from someone that can help.

Have you read all the posts in the Audio/Electronics forum since that's where most of the information is? There are a number of options to get AUXIN on a stock W210 radio. From really bad ones like a cassette adapter to really good ones like installing auxin cable to the circuit board of the radio (Becker Autosound in NJ will do that). Another option is to make a cable to attach to the back of the radio where the connector for the CD changer attaches. Obviously this disables the changer. I have described the parts needed elsewhere so maybe a little searching for AUXIN might help.

To be honest I never use the cd so that may be great option. I will search the forum. How to get toback of radio is a question Would be easier if can do through the changer in trunk. I don't have tape...

You probably have the optical link to the CD changer so I don't think the trunk is a solution.
Do you have the MB factory radio? Should be one of 2 different Becker radios. Probably Becker 3302. You can go to www.beckerautosound.com and look at the front panels of Mercedes radios to see if you recognize it. FYI, the front panel hides the cassette port until tape+eject are pressed.
If so you can remove the radio easily with a set of 'radio keys'. The DIN connector for the changer on the back can be removed to expose the pins and allow you to attach a short 2.5mm cable. You can route the cable into the ashtray, thru the center console to the armrest/storage cabinet or to the interior of the glove box.
If you aren't big in DIY, Becker will exchange your radio for the same model with an AUXIN cable installed or install one on yours if you want to wait.

RichardM98 I want to say thank you so much! I had an OMG moment when I opened the tape door. Seriously I never knew it was there felt like a doof They hide it so well a user can't find it..... The tape option is only temporary, I have a beeping because door is open for tape, I see little white button and hard to close the secret door with wire sticking out from the tape. Any nifty ideas to get past that temporarily while I figure how to do the removal of the radio?
Where can I get the right removal tool for the radio? Any pictures of the tool or links? Despite what you may think about my DIY capabilities based on my earlier OMG moment I think I should be quite capable...... Thank you again, I am going to check other postings too.

Ok forget that I made one worked great. I have a BE3309 radio now trying to figure how to add auxin to the back connectors. It is a fiber optic link to back. Need to find rest of wiring harness to determine auxin. Any links for this. I'm going to the audio electronics section to nose around

Richard I searched for your 3rd option of modifying the connector on back of radio, no luck on that.... Do you have a link for that post, I found the ones modifying inside radio, but I think disabling cd is fine.

Here's how I made my own AUXIN cable for about $10.

You will need to get the connectors shown in the picture either at a electronics supply (not RadioShack) or online.
Take a 3.5mm miniplug audio cable. Cut off one end. Attach the connectors to two signals and ground (3 total). Use the pin out diagram to find the correct connectors. Attach the cable and route as desired.
Here is a radio key with dimensions. Pretty cheap from dealer or Becker NA.

I don't know if any board members have used this provider or not but CarTronics has an iPod/USB device for the E320 that works with the stock radio console. You do not have to have the AUX button but it will, in some cases, use the CD changer slot. I am thinking about buying it myself. Here's their website, click on the down-arrow next to "iPod Audio" and you will get the complete description/details etc... FYI, It will not replace the CD changer in all but the rarest of cases. We have sold several thousand of them, so someone should chime in.

You would need to contact sales about installers when you order - they will be happy to find you one. We do not have retailers (cut out the middle man to offer better prices and better customer support)

Getting radio out
I know I'm late to this party but just in case, there's a pair of small keys you can get for around 10 bucks to get the radios out. One set kinda of looks like the death stars a kung fu dude would throw at you.
