Instrument Panel Gauges - 5 second delay?

I'm curious if anyone has seen this issue. About a year or two ago, the gauges began to delay about 5-10 seconds after engine starts before they start up. Temp, Gas, Tach all sit at zero (as if the engine were off) for a few seconds, and then show proper readings.

The pixel part of display (temp, odometer, trip counter and time) all come on immediately.

This started 1-2 years ago, and my mechanic just says to ignore it since it isn't really a problem. I'm just wondering if this is a known issue around this board and if there is a DIY fix.

I should probably mention that the original panel was replaced by MB dealer while the car was still under warranty as the pixel part of the display started to drop pixels. Oddly, the dealer had an AMG panel, and used it, so I have the one AMG logo on the car. This was probably done in 1999 or 2000, so the panel worked just fine for 10 years +/-.

TIA
