other quality issue
I was doing maygor cleaning of my 1999 E430 with 60.000 miles on it. The seal that goes around the doors i puled it away from the doors(only top part around window) and noticed lots of rust on two doors. I thought it was only mine but my friend has a 1997 E320 i looked there and same thing rust can some of you check your doors andl et me know if you got it too its really messed up rusty BENZ.

I have a 1998 E430 with about 46k on the clock. I checked where you mentioned but (fortunatley) there was no signs of rust. Pretty clean in there too, looks like new

Interesting. I had the same problem with a 1988 300TE. It was a California car, sold in Beverly Hills and spent its whole life there. It did not spread out to where it was visible - it just sort of stayed in the same place. No signs of it on my E430.
