poor performance ?????????
With Esp off if i mashed on the throttle in my E430 I get alittle chirp of the tires and the car takes off. I had a guy beside me in the same yr 2000 e430 lay a nice patch doing the same he claims he has no mods but it was just some stranger in the street so not sure if he's telling the truth..So is his modded or am I getting poor performance
I did also notice even though I shut Esp off it still flashed during my 2 sec chirp

There is more than one way to launch the car. Maybe the other guy was brake torquing the car; hold foot and brake, apply throttle, and released the brake, and accelerated away. The main question is, who was faster at the end?

I beat him by about half of car length at the end (next set of lights about a 1/4 mile road) Just thought it was weird that his car looked to have more power on the launch but I didnt even think of him holding the brake to smoke em up. Thats a good point.Well I feel better now knowing its not a problem with my car : )

If you beat him at the next night then there is nothing to worry about. Sometimes all that smoke and burning rubber is for show only. Maybe he had old tires and had less grip. On certain surfaces, even my C43 had a hard time breaking traction at a stand still without standing on the brakes.
