Question Need help identifying a line/wire

Hey everyone, I just changed out my duo valve on my 01 E55 and while doing so the gray line that runs along it broke. It looks like a wire, but after looking at it closer I see it actually seems to be a tiny vacuum line. Anyone know what it does? I have a feeling it has to do with the climate control, but not sure. On a side note. My A/C now works great but the heat is just cabin temp. Guessing it has something to do with this line. Appreciate any help or advice you can give.

Thanks
Esko

You are right there is a line in that area, which goes into the cabin and supplies vacuum to the valve body, which in turn supplies to all the flaps, which control the air flow(mixing doors, as well as the flap which determine which outlet the air will get to).

Thanks for confirming. I wasn't sure. It was a clean break so it should be a simple fix.

Thanks again

most of the time you can just slide a piece of rubber hose over it(vacuum hose would be preferred over windshield washer one because of the wall thickness). Good luck.
