Light Gremlins
Light Gremlins
I have electrical gremlins and I am not sure where to look next.I have a 2001 E40 that is haveing some issues. It started out with my brake lights. When I turn on my headlights my brake lights STAY ON. Even when I am not pressing in the brake pedal. I just replaced the brake swithch and that dod not do anything. Has anyone ever experienced this before? I would just like to know where to begin looking.. I am thinking about replacing the whole headlight switch itself, but I am not sure. The metal plate on the back of one of my tail lights is loose and I am wondering if that is not giving me a good connection with all of my contacts would it cause problems with my brake lights? Also when my lights are off and I press the brake pedal on of my front running lights comes on... WIERD... I am frustrated by all of this.
All ideas are very welcome!
Thanks in advance.
Disconnect both your tail-lights(there's a connector on the metal board) and check if the problem disappears(parking lights coming on) if it does check/replace your tail-light inner piece(it's a large circuit basically it sometimes corrodes or can melt, take a good look to see if it can be salvaged). On the over hand if it remains a closer look at the light switch would be in order.
Good luck.
Good luck.
