V6 engine gremlims !

V6 engine gremlims !
Hi all ,
I have an 98 E280 V6 (UK model) , It's suffering from an engine problem that means it has very little power at full throttle , it seems to have normal power at half throttle and shifts well through the gears but under full acceleration or in kickdown it has a huge flat spot around 4800 rpm and bangs through the gears .
It has also developed a noise at around 900 rpm that seems to come from the air-con compressor , its a clicking / knocking noise . I dont think its connected to the power loss problem .
The ignition key also failed a couple of days ago so it hasn't been a great week .
All this is should be covered under the MB warranty and the car is booked in early next month but I would appreciate any advice so I dont get mislead .

The Noise Could Be the Crank pulley going away...They Seperate
And When they do they take out the front cover,oil pan,water pump,radiator and anything else in the way on Departure
Have It Inspected for cracks!
