1999 E320 trans in limp mode after being replaced
I had my transmission replaced and it won't shift out of first gear, I've been told several times to replace the conductor plate, I also read on here that replacing the battery could be a fix also. I guess I need to have a Star scan and go from there...any suggestions as to what's going on? The car sat for 6 months before the trans was replaced, the battery was tested as bad, but I hooked it back up, and the car started. So let me know what you guys think.

If there are error codes stored in the transmission control unit you have to have those cleared. Any dealer can do this or some of the larger independent shops. I don't think you need a battery because if it is too low the car will not even crank.
