Can The CD Magazine be removed without power
Just installed a new Kenwood KDC-X696 Receiver which I absolutely love. FM sounds great and the existing Bose amp and speakers work great. Streaming bluetooth audio is very cool.
I forgot to remove my CD cartridge before disconnecting the old changer and now I cant get my CDs out. I have no problem ripping that piece of junk apart but was wondering if there is a gentle way to do it.

removed the changer, removed all the screws and pulled of the cover, turned a few gears to get the cartridge to release and threw the changer in the trash. Felt good to be rid of that piece of junk.
Loving my new Kenwood. The Boze amp cranks with it

i keep thinking I'd go with a single DIN DVD, with flip up screen but i keep putting
it off. so let's say i am just so lazy that i pick this same model. was it an easy
install? did you use the "VW" harness? i have the Bose system also. did your
AM improve?

I dont think the install is difficult but I decided to let the shop install it for me because they ran the microphone for the phone interface up to the headliner, plus I had my car back in an hour. They charged me 179 for the unit and 120 for the install and harnesses. 300 all in.
I have the Boze amp option on my car and this upgrade finally brought it to life. I did lose my steering control and the ability to turn on the radio without the key. Looks so much nicer. My kids love it.

You want a 4 volt preamp output to control the Boze amp. Any of the better head units have 4 volt. The cheaper ones are 2 volt. good luck
