HEEEELP!! Car died after battery disconnect :-(
Hi guys, fist of all thanks a lot for all wise thought and good advice! I've been reading this forum for a long time but I never had any big problem to ask for help... until yesterday ![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Here is the thing, I disconnected car battery on my W210 (1998) and after I connected it back again the car hesitates on idle, shuts off and misfires! Of course, it is not possible to drive it...
I have tried "soft reset", disconnecting battery again (both of these several times) but no improvement. Also my air conditioner buttons were alive when it started behaving badly but now I see that they are dead... I am lost, what is happening?? BTW, the car was running smoothly so far, I have never had any problems with it.
Please, give me a hint, every thought counts!

I just wanted to replace CD player. The car had a old (not OEM) cd player that didn't read MP3 so I've decided to swap it with a better one. I disconnected the battery and removed old one. Then I rewired the wires as the junction is different on new CD player. Before plugging the new CD player in I connected the battery back and started the car, just to make sure that everything is ok before I plug the new one...
Best of it all, in the meantime I plugged the new CD player in and it works like a charm :-) Probably it is the only thing that works properly on the car now :-)
I don't know, but is the battery disconnecting so troublesome, can it cause such problems as in my case?

Well... it was not to many things to check, I just reconnected battery back as it was.
But here comes the best part, in a meantime a friend of mine came with a diagnostic tool and there were no codes!!! After flickering for about an hour we got lambda sensor code. That would be an easy fix but I am a bit suspicious after all...
