Need a CPS, which one to buy?
I have been getting a code for the CPS and want to replace it soon and have been looking online to buy. Which brand? Also I see there's one with one mounting tab and one with 2. I cant see the CPS on my engine because of where it's located so I dont know for sure. My car has a build date of 6/01, so which one do I need?
Thanks!
Thanks!

There is only one crank position sensor. On V8 cars you can barely see the sensor when looking for it. If i'm not mistake it is located on the drivers side rear engine block, it will have a 8mm bolt holding it in place. As for what sensor to buy, don't cheap out buy the Mercedes-Benz OEM sensor, you don't want it failing on you when you most need it.

Credit info is needed to verify that you indeed are a US resident.(and keep us Canucs away...

And as to what to buy MB uses Bosch sensors, so buy a Bosch, MB will sell you the same exact sensor with a huge mark-up. As long as it's a genuine Bosch u're fine.

Bosch, unless you are forced to use other brands.

Changed it today. Only took about 2 minutes. I noticed on a lot of posts about this that people are having problems finding tools to reach the bolt on the CPS. Well, this was so easy it wasnt even funny. Used the E8 socket, swivel adapter, 2 1/4" drive extensions, 1/4" ratchet.
