99 E320 having starting and running problems

Hi guys, hope all is going well.
My 1999 E320 is having problems, I'm having intermitent starting and running problems. Occassionally it wont start after driving it for a while and sometimes, it just quits running and then wont start right away. If I let the car sit for a couple of minutes then it will start, but sometimes quits after a few minutes other times it runs for days. It is now throwing a P0141 code and all other live data looks ok. Any ideas? Would a 141 code make it quit running???? What other wear-out items go bad without throwing a code??
thanks ron

Have you gone through all those symptoms without a CEL??

Thanks for the reply, no the CEL came on all of a sudden and I stopped to get some gas, then the car wouldn't start. I tried on and off for about 10 minutes and it finally started and ran good. I took off headed home and it died on the way home. Started again after a while and then stopped again. At that time I had it towed home where it now sits in the driveway. It will start and run ok, but still has the P0141 code. Im starting to think water in the gas or bad gas maybe?????
No other codes on the reader and we are using a high end snap-on code reader.
thanks ron

The plot thickens. P0141 is a right side o2 sensor and apart of the emissions system on the car. If you had P0141, I believe you would have had a CEL and there would be associated freeze frame data. I also do not believe that the symptoms you are currently experiencing relate in any way to P0141.

I no nothing about Snap On however I use a current MB system, maybe your fault was an event or an older saved fault.

Does your system allow you to run component tests based on symptoms. If so that is what I would do next. Good Luck!!
