E320 Rear Passenger Side Window Closing Problems

My parents have a 1999 E-320. All 4 windows have auto open and auto close. The problem is with the rear passenger side window. When I press the close button in the auto position it closes completely than opens about 2-3 inches. If I close the window in the manual mode it closes completely without issue. My parents are on vacation this week so I would like to get it fixed before they come back in a week. If I got to spend some money I'm fine with that but i would rather fix it myself than take it to a shop. I don't work on cars so I don't know where to start. So I came to the forums. Thank you very much for any and all help.

Check the owner's manual and look for the steps to re-synchronize that window. I think that involves opening it manually and holding the button for a few seconds. The close it manually and hold the button there for another few seconds. Report back if that does not fix it.

I have tried to sync the windows but that didn't help. All 4 windows are still the same.

Then it might be detecting a blockage, a safety feature. Check the insulation around the glass to see if there might be a crimp in it. And above the window in case there is something up there, probably more likely.
