Floor mat backing

I have 01 e430 and the foam backing that keeps the floor mat in place has deteriorated and come off. The carpet itself is fine so I was wondering about suggestions on how to fix them. I have an idea but want other ideas first.

I would remove the old foam backing and glue a new backing!

my rubber mats came with clips to hold them in place. Something like these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-OEM-...e6f0e9&vxp=mtr

That's common on Mercedes floor mats. One of the things that's bothers me the most. I usually figure when that happens it's time for new ones.

I forgot about the clips, had those on my old c class. I might pick some of those up. My idea was to do 3m spray glue and some new backing foam or the nonslip stuff for kitchen cabinets

Before they are no longer available I would buy a new set of mats. I bought mine from a dealer for about $100. Surely by now yours could use a bit of refreshing? But that was a few years ago so the color you need might not be out there. Mine came with 3 clips as mentioned above.

Alternatively, I think your idea about the nonslip stuff would work. I need some right now because my lower couch cushions keep slipping outward. That is pretty inexpensive and you can just glue some into place.
