In the dash of my new-to-me 2001 E320 the temperature gauge is missing/dim pixels so I can't see the actual temp. Any way to fix?

Assuming you do not have a bulb out or a sensor not sending data---

The issue becomes one of a faulty instrument cluster ribbon cable---------------where there have been all sorts of proported wonderfull and not so wonderful fixes.

If you are sure it is not a bulb or a lack of signal from the sensor----then do a search for IC fixes. Good Luck!!

As Plutoe mentioned there are a lot of supposed fixes for this. How do the pixels look that illuminate the gear you are in? I'm asking because those go south too.

If I were you I'd pull the cluster and send it out for repair. If you are searching around for the fixes you will undoubtedly find at least one link to a place that does this. IIRC that will set you back about $200. Compare that to a new (or refurb) one from a dealer at $1000+.

Good luck.
