Here is a quandry

Well this year has been a hard year for my w210.
in august the ecu/eis/esl system malfunctioned and would not let the key unlock the car.
So after looking into how much it would cost to replace the eis (suspected fault).... £850, i then decided to replace as many of the electronic modules in the car.
So after replacing ecu, eis and esl and key from a donner car i have a curious problem/hitch.
When i start the car the cluster flashes 130mph.
Now i understand that this is the speed limiter which can be set by the driver.
However i beleive it is set using the ac digital panel, which my car does not have.
So does anyone have any ideas how i would go about restoring the 155mph limit?
All off the wall ideas will be entertained!!

A quandary indeed. When was the last time you went above 130 on the M8 say?

It won't do 155 mph in any case. The limiter is on the cruise stalk on mine

Yeah its not a real problem
Because i'm not in the habit of going over 100mph.
However it does annoy me slightly and i'm just mulling over the best way to fix it.
I think that a star session could either clear it or replace it with a showy message saying 186mph. which would be entertaining.

True, but you can also set a top speed in your menu...on a facelift like you have.

Well thanks for the wisdom, i really do appreciate it.
Unfortunatly i have the pre facelift model and do not have the digital panel
there may be a stalk procedure that resets the limiter, i'd love to hear that.
I also love the star developer conundrum, in that i think my local imb is on standard star and might entertain dev mode, if i can provide it. And too that end i'm loving the star stuff - its a real challange... i'm doing my research and should be able to procure a cable at some point, i'm also foolhardy eneough to want to want to run it in a vmware setup on usb. Ha Ha.
Well there are priorities in life and my car has more urgent needs.
Plus it will be several weeks till i'm able to get car time, so happy hols plutoe this will end up being being one of my finishing touches as i have many issues with this car at the last count 16, but on the upside i did a list of problems solved and it came to 14 so far. So i'm taking a break.
Cheers.

There is no stalk procedure, toby1 was refering to the speed limiter function that was operated from the same stalk as the cc...but I don't think you would have it on your car (I didn't when I had a 300td).
