Question on a headlamp swap

I've recently 'de - xenon'd' my headlamps -- opting for a halogen set on a mechanic's advice regarding the cheaper maintenance cost. I had no problem with this (in fact, the new kit came in less than the replacement new OEM light and ballast -- this is where I should have done my research, for apparently aftermarket options abounded for HID too for much more reasonable prices -- my bad, and a cautionary tale to anyone else going down this route upon 'friendly advice').
Anywho, money already spent -- at this point the mechanic has told me that the wagon had an 'autoleveling' feature in the HID light option that will now be disabled, in addition to the headlamp sprayers/washers.
Now I get the autoleveling feature's being disabled, but why would the washers also be impacted? Nothing I've found on any forum, or the headlight manufacturer themselves (Spyder) indicated that this should be a problem. Thoughts?
The washers are not a problem and will work with whatever lamp you have installed. I have them with my Xenons, I had them previously with halogens.
Auto leveling was installed with all Xenons, not just on the wagon. Your mechanic has cost you money...bad advice.
