2002 E430 4matic SE

Hi all, I'm a new member of the forum. I just purchased a 2002 E430 4matic Special Edition. Quartz silver(The only color a Merc should be, IMHO), Ash interior. I traded in my 99 E430 Sport(Also silver) to get the 4matic and the nice options on the SE. I deliberated on waiting for an '03, but since the 4matic is not coming out until '04, I deciced to go ahead. Also, because it's an SE, I didn't have to pay the extra $$ for the Xenons. The black birdseye trim really makes the interior, as you E55 owners know. The car is fantastic...My wife is wondering why I want to sleep in the garage-lol. From a performance standpoint, the car runs circles around the '99 in terms of handling and feel. Also, I switched the stock tires(Pirelli supersport 7000) to a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's. Check out these tires if your in the market, they are awesome-Perform like their Z rated cousins but grip a lot better in the snow. Anyway, that's the deal-look forward to speaking with fellow Merc maniacs.

Congratulations, Great car and hey you have your first chance today to play around in the snow

Well, I'm thinking of doing the same in a few short weeks.

Since, you're located in Chicagoland, and if you don't mind would you post where you got the car and how much you paid?

Thanks,
-N.

I got the car in Naperville. Paid significantly less then sticker. Had it out in the snow today-performed just beautifully. If you are thinking about getting one, better hurry. Only a handful of dealerships here got one(Naperville had 2, whiched helped my cause). I know of a few others SE's around the area, but Naperville gave me the best deal and the most for my trade. There are other E430 4Matics around, but they cost significantly more then the SE and in many cases do not have as many extras, like the Xenons and the black birdseye trim. Plus with the SE you get the sport 5 spoke rims which I like much better then the standard E430 rims.
Let me know if you need any more info.

2002 E320 Special Edition, Quartz Silver
Congratulations!
Post a pic of the car with the perf wheels if you can.
Though I do not live in the snow country but would I have the
the high perf tires cos SE comes with it. The xenons must be a
treat as I hear they give more visibility and easy on the oncoming drivers.
Cheers
