Window switch not working
I have a 99 e430 and the power window switches do not work.
I tried and cleaned contacts with electrical cleaner but nothing.
I randomly tried to see if they work and every now and then windows do go down and up.
but after turning car off and on again,
they stop working. any ideas on what it can be?
thanks

Well the good news is that if after you cleaned and sprayed and filed and hammered and soaked and heated the switch and it still seems faulty------remember the story about the duck--------if it quacks like a duck there is a high probability that it is a duck-----Now read this post quickly ten times and see if you come to the same conclusion

Well the next least expensive suggestion is to resync the window modules.
To do that, disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes. (Remember by doing so you loose all the memory positions you have saved in door control module)
Next step is to open the window fully, hold the switch in the position for a couple of seconds. Then close the window and hold the switch upon closing for a couple of seconds. Do that for both sides(front and back)-----Does that solve the problem?
