FlatlineEF9's W210 Rebuild thread
#176
Wow just went through this entire thread and I LOVE this build. I just bought a 2000 w210 e55 just today and am already in love with it, kinda wonder why you didn't purchase a e55 instead but I'm sure you had your reasons. Btw I'm originally a honda head just like you so that's pretty cool too lol anyways I hope you continue to update this thread as this is the nicest 210 I've seen so far!

Big thanks Phokingb! Always happy when people appreciate the build. I would have totally gone with the 02 e55 instead of a 96 320, but I got the car at a killer deal back in 2005...the car originally was owned by my uncle in 96 and sold to my dad back in 2000.
I sold the car to my brother in 2007 when I bought my 2003 E55 AMG but bought it back from him in 2010. So 4 different owners, but still kept in the family
Still got some brabus goodies to install...the brakes are still sitting in my closet LOL.

Clean EK! pretty CTR'd out.
The Ksports/koni yellow combo I got is pretty comfortable and pretty low...install is quite different than our Hondas...I find the Hondas to be easier to remove and adjust. Theres a few threads on here regarding spring removal. I would HIGHLY recommend a camber kit after you slam it. I rode around with terrible toe for a long time and it not only ate my tires up, it rode like complete ****...in an unstable way. The rear suspension arms are a must if you slam.
If I could do it again, I would just pay the money for KW dampers... for the price of my Ksports and the Koni yellows...I pretty much could have bought the KW...better quality and much better customer support.

No real site I prefer for aftermarket stuff on this car. For OEM stuff I love autohausaz.com
Yeah its expensive...but just for the Ksport kit and koni yellow shocks was like 1600 bucks shipped out here to Hawaii...Would have made more sense to just get the KW kit and do it right the first time.
For the rear camber arms, there is a DIY here on the site. Just search w124 camber arm DIY and you will see it. It works for our 210s, and 202s as well. I forgot the name of the camber kit...its made in Australia I think tho.

SILVER 1997 W210, BRABUS KIT; 2015 WRX, WHITE
Hello Flatline,
Nice looking ride!
I have a silver 1997 E320, with Brabus kit and wheels just like your.
Bought it off my best friend 5 years back. He was the original owner.
Yours are 18"?
For some reason, my 18" wheels look so... small on my car.
Want to get 19", but hesistating to spend the money.
I just got a 2015 WRX and rather spend money on modding that.
But I still LOVE my E320.
Thought about selling it, but never could.
Still brings a smile to my face everyday I look at my beautiful, 18 years old E320

So my rear brake battle. I bought the silver rear brabus calipers a few years ago. Originally designed for a S class supposedly. The black calipers I just recently got...and they are the for our w210s. I also purchased brabus rear 2pc rotors...but they currently dont fit EITHER of these calipers...and im not trying to buy 2 more...i already have 4 rear brabus calipers.
Upon closer inspection, these brabus calipers can only use a 22mm thick rotor...so that leaves my options limited. I either had to buy OEM w210 E55 rotors, or SL500/600 rotors. One option i discovered online is the SL600 Silver arrow (p030) option came in drilled. So I ended up going that route. These are OEM mercedes SL600 Silver arrow rear rotors.
The disc is only 22mm larger diameter than stock (300mm vs 278mm) but the huge difference will come from the vented rotor being more than twice as thick. (22mm vs 9mm) and 4 pot calipers vs single piston.
Going to try and install these on saturday. Probably go with the silvers for now to match my silver AMG fronts.

stockness original 1996 rotors pads and calipers amazing that benz stuff lasts so long
new hotness. silver arrow rotors and 4 pot brabus brakes had to cut the dust shield for the much larger caliper to fit. I also had to throw a couple washers in the caliper bracket.
pretty happy with the look and performance of the brakes. now to keep on the lookout for the matching fronts.<br/>
