Jumping RPM on idle E200 CDI
Hello all,
after starting ignition and car on my RPM start to jump up and down. After car is on for some time this effect disappears and engine is working ok without any unusual acting like mentioned before. What can be the problem?
Thank you!

Out Of Control!!

I do not think there is one simple answer, except the CDI control module is reacting to two sets of different situations, cold and hot, based upon what you have said, I would first check the coolant temp sensor.
However to eliminate all speculation you would have to have someone with DAS/HHT. That person could quickly look at the cold actual values and compare them to the CDI set points. With that data he would learn where the faulty data is coming from.
Not an easy thing to diagnose via "the finger in the wind approach" or "my girl friend thinks it's a crank position sensor"
