E3 Sport Package Option Question
I'm new to MB and this forum. I'm currently in the process of selling my 996 and I've been looking at buying 1999 - 2001 E420 or CLK420. There have been many informative posts that are helping me make my decision. I found a 1999 E420 with E3 Sport Package, sunroof, heated seats, 5 spoke sport wheel and 32k miles – asking price $44,995. Could someone please tell me what the E3 package includes? Also, if anyone has a pic of a 430 w/E3 please post.

That price seems high for a 99 E430 Sport. I traded in a 99 E430 Sport earlier this month and it's now for sale at a local dealership(Starmarked). Milage/options are about the same as the one you describe and they want under 40K for it. The E3 package consists of the 5 spoke alloys, 235/45 Zr 17 tires, front/side skirts, and front foglamps. Go to autotrader.com for comparable cars with photos in your area.

For 1999 it is E430 and CLK430. The E420 was only for 1997 model year.

The 1997 E420 and the E430 from 1998 to 2002 have same horsepower rating. The 2000 E430 would be a great buy also. All W210 received the mid-model updates beginning in 2000 model year.
If you can live without the V8, the 2001 E320 was also available in the E3 Sport Package beginning in 2001. The Sport Package offered no performance enhancement in the E-Class, but it looks so good. I always thought it was crazy tht MBZ gives upgraded suspension to the C-Class Sport Package and not the E. They should have at least re-worked the suspension and lowered it a little like they offer in Europe on the Avantgarde version.
