2001 E430 door jamb switch removal
My alarm went off without any reason. I suspect the door jambs to be faulty.
How do I remove them? I don't want to damage them.
Thanks!

E430 4-Matic and E320 4-Matic Station Wagon
You can test them first to determine which one is faulty. When I had a bad one, it was half broken already and already falling off, so it was relatively easy to remove. As far as testing goes, open each door one a a time, and then press the switch. The interior light should turn off if the switch is working properly. Once you find the defective one, if its not already coming off, you can pry the switch out with a flatblade screwdriver, and there is a plug on the back of the switch that disconnects.

Out Of Control!!
This topic has been discussed hundreds of time througout the forum suggest you do a search, failing that use a plastic wedge and simply pry upwards and the sensor will come out---my suggestion is NOT to disconnect the sensor pigtail untill you are ready to connect a new one------because if after you disconnect the sensor the male connector falls down the pillar you wish that you diden't do that!!

I've searched and nothing. I better try this again. All the switches work, and they only switch off the "accent" bottom door light. I guess it takes a bit of a delay for the dome/and rear to go off.
If the switches are ok, then it must be my battery. It's 6 years old and has many short trips on it. There is acid residue around the battery too
