New owner, display question
I am the proud new owner of a 96 E320. Needs some TLC, that leads me to my first question. (I have been through stickies and searches)
I drove the car in the snow last night and realized there was no ABS felt at all as slid to a stop each time.
Should I see some sort of warning for the ABS not working? No lights on the dash for ABS lit, and the only display warnings are ETS and Light bulb malfunction.
I understand all about the brake switch DIY, I'm just concerned that there is no warning for ABS in particular.
On a 96 E320, when the abs is malfunctioning what should I see on my dash? Is there a light or is there a warning on the display?
Would it be an error in the printed display or just a light?
Also, would the ETS error cause the ABS to stop working completly as well?
I know this is an odd problem, that is why I am posting it here so that the people that have delt with these types of issues for years might be able to provide some insight. I will also read through my manual in case there is some information in there about a malfunctioning ABS system that gives no notification.
I will take video of the the entire startup procedure and post it here so we can both see the same thing. I just don't want to start throwing parts at this thing.
