That is the head unit for the analog phone - the handset would go in the center console. Analog phones are now useless

yea that is a display of the phone connection to your car. Analog phones are compatible with the old Mercedes Benz and just like bluetooth phone connection is now back then i was like a hard line was connected to your center console and analog phone are the ones made by motorola, nokia and others that are built like tanks. All the cellphone carriers have moved on to digital phone lines, but there are still a couple of analog phones available online and there are some carriers like Verizon do provide analog service but they are completely useless for other than talking. No texting, no internet on the phone, no smiley faces, no nothing.
