re: ec light

Here is my most recent experience with the ec light on a E320. light came on simultaneously the blower motor stopped working. I called our local specialist and told him about the light and i"suggested" that possibly it needs a new blower motor. (thinking the 2 were connected I dropped the car off, and he said there was no 12 volt coming from the blower motor so he replaced it. now he made no mention of the ec light, which was still on when the car was picked up. I went back today and he said that the ec light is an ac problem. I found the in board diagnostic test here on the forum but nothing happened so he sent me to a local shop and they hooked up to their diagnostic scanner and the board would not communicate with 2 scanners, so i'm told the control module needs replaced. Now while on defrost the blower wouldnt work either, so now i am wondering if the problem is/was the control module. I am selling the wagon and dont want to pass along any issues, as the "specialist" suggested i do just that. Left very disappointed and wished I had gone to a certified Mercedes dealer instead . Maybe should have put this in a new thread as well.

Look at post 4 for the link to for the tests

Do the tests and post the results!!

PS: Most likely the EC lamp is on because you have very low refrigerant levels, which usually means you have a leak!!
I used my 2 fingers , (i could point one of them at you, lol) but wont. and nothing happened. I went back and p/u the old blower, how do i test it?
